NBC Los AngelesThanks to our friends at NBC4 Southern California, young enthusiasts will have an opportunity to see up close the StormRanger4 Mobile Doppler, a new and first-of-its-kind mobile Doppler weather radar truck. NBC4 Meteorologist David Biggar will be on-hand to showcase the vehicle. His love for NASCAR and having an avid appreciation for aviation sparked his interests about Woodley’s Wing’s & Wheels.

Mr. Biggar will be bringing one of the first of its kind weather radars - StormRanger Mobile Doppler.  These units have been deployed across the country to help monitor area weather via Mobile Doppler weather radar.  The services are provided by specially equipped Dodge Ram trucks that provide remote radar capabilities with ranges of up to 100 miles.

The game-changing technology enables meteorologists to position the trucks in locations where they can see around terrain that has previously been unreachable by fixed weather radars.  The StormRanger can track storms wherever they are with a higher degree of accuracy and with more detail than is possible with using fixed Doppler radar.

Woodley’s Wings and Wheels welcomes and looks forward to bringing NBC4’s latest technology to our event!
